True Self Care

Self care is hard.

The term self care has gotten a lot of attention lately, which is great! However, it can leave us feeling guilty when we don’t have the time, energy, or money for the big self care tasks we see all over social media.

In reality, self care is so much more than massages, face masks, and even cooking at home. Self care is really any act of self love that you can show yourself, even if it is small. Did you drink water today? Did you eat something? Did you sleep or take a nap? Did you go outside even for a minute and be in the sun? All of this and more is the underrated self care we don’t see a lot of', and it’s arguably much more important.

It’s so easy to see self care on social media or to hear our friends talk about it and feel like we’re not doing enough. Self care is hard, and true self care is smaller than we think. Take a sip of water, say something kind about yourself, and know your body and spirit appreciates it. The more you can start to acknowledge these small acts of self care, the better and more important they start to feel.
